Personal Bests

Marius Ionescu este primul maratonist român care a participat la proba masculină din cadrul Jocurilor Olimpice după 48 ani. Ultima participare a fost la Tokyo, 1964, când România a bifat maratonul masculin prin Constantin Grecescu care a terminat pe locul 36, cu timpul de 2:30:43.
Marius Ionescu este singurul roman care a alergat trei maratoane in sub 2 ore si 14 minute: 2:13:33, in 2013, la Hamburg, 2:13:19, in 2015, la Dusseldorf, si 2.13.00, tot la Dusseldorf, in 2016!
